LACE TIPS: The Mini Bag
Statement accessories can be a staple that make or break the versatility of a wardrobe. Recently, I was sitting on a stoop in SoHo because the person I was meeting there was running late (if you don’t know, the subway in NYC is horrible on weekends). Looking around, I noticed every other person had a mini bag. In a city where commuting is a major lifestyle and schlepping your belongings in a canvas tote is a universal solution, this trend is major. A lot of people have been trying to follow the trend of minimizing their belongings and it seems the new solution is forcing it upon themselves with limited storage.
A lot of the versions I have seen are structured, colorful, and embellished. Many also have the crossbody option. Whether for a night out where all you need is lip gloss and twenty dollars or for your next street style-esque shot, here are some cool options:
Starting off with a basic: black and a satchel from ASOS. You can’t go wrong.
If you want texture to boost your neutrals, this bag has inverted pleats people! That’s amazing!
The mini bag is also coming in the form of backpacks for a less formal look. This one by French Connection is currently on sale.
PVC has been a huge textile popping up and yellow has been declared the new trend color by everyone including Pantone. This is only $15 from UO.
Fringe, beading, and sparkling hardware. For when you want to mix the vibes of Studio 54 and Gaga. Get it here!
