Yet Another Reason to Love Uzo Aduba

This past Thursday, the world got another reason to admire actress Uzo Aduba. If you haven’t already fallen in love with her character, Suzanne “Crazy Eyes” Warren, from Netflix’s ‘OITNB’, or seen her perform her various roles on the big screen, or any of her four Broadway shows, then this needs to take the cake. The Hollywood star posted on her Instagram an obviously dated video that shows the younger actress remarkably figure skating around an ice rink with spins, jumps, and glides that bear resemblance to that of a seasoned professional competitive skater.

Turns out Uzo holds a deep passion for skating, and perfected it a lot when she was younger. She associates that period in her life to making her the person she is today. In her caption, she reminisced on the joys of childhood and growing up, saying, ‘Before there was Galinda, there was this… man, to be a kid again.” She then further recognizes her then choreographer and her coach, thanking them for shaping her life for the better and shaping her into the person she is today. “I know without question everything I am is because of the incredible support, guidance, and encouragement I was given along the way. I hope every kid gets to have a Donna Rozon [choreographer] and Roland Bessette [coach] in their life to help shape them for the better on their journey.”

The minute-long video shows Aduba donning red skates and a blue dress, a classic portrayal of Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz, skating to Elton John’s 1973 hit “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road” and came as a pleasant crazy surprise to many followers of her Instagram who commented their disbelief at Uzo’s multiple capabilities and talents.

One of the replies from, talk show host Kelly Ripa, pretty much sums up all of our sentiments. “WHAT??? What can’t you do to perfection? What? Name one thing??? I’ll be on hold.”

I feel you, Kelly. But something tells me you might be on hold for that answer for a long while girl. We love you, Uzo.
